Most romantic restaurants in Tel Aviv are usually quite posh and stuck up, a hostess greets you, writes your name down on a long list, and once called, very formally takes you to your table. If you are looking for a more intimate feel and a great atmosphere to take your date to, there is no better place than Mel and Michelle.

It's a small and beautiful authentic Italian restaurant on Ben Yehuda Street, just a five minute walk from the beach. After taking your date on a lovely sunset walk on the boardwalk, you can come have a great romantic dinner that will end your evening with a smile.

I can't help but mention the professional staff that genuinely takes an interest in making your experience a special one. From the waiters, to the bartender and all the way to the chef, you can really see why the staff stays around for so long. The waitress that served us has been working at the restaurant for over three years, so you can really see that when the staff is happy it beams off of them and passed right on to the diners.

Local drinks, authentic taste
How can we call a dinner romantic without a bottle of wine to accompany it? If you are a true wine lover don't even think about ordering anything other than the house wine - blend of Syrah that completes the dining experience. For those more into beers, be sure to try some local beer that is quite hard to come by in most places, and for those really looking to get wild, try the home-made Limóncello!

If you are a person that loves to explore new dishes, this place is for you! Mel and Michelle offers a variety of sophisticated dishes. Although the menu is limited and does not offer a book full of different dishes, Mel and Michelle does a perfect job at catering to every taste bud right to the point with the most perfect dishes.

For all the meat lovers out there, be sure to have the Carpaccio, you will just melt. The Parisian Gnocchi is a perfect dish for those with the more sophisticated pallet. This article will not be complete if I don't add the scallops to the must-eat list and lastly, for the real sinners, a must have is definitely the Drunken veal topped with Pancetta and Mozzarella.

The chef and his sous-chefs are able to hit the bull's eye in every dish I tried, I was so pleased not only by the tastes of the food but also in the way it was all served. The dishes are presented on beautiful retro-style dishes, all giving you a feel of home. The pasta is made just right, the fish is cooked perfectly and the dessert, oh the dessert! So delicate! Try the Crepe with Mascarpone if know how to enjoy a real true dessert.
